Griaz Utulazg looked out on his vast army, ready to march onto the free world. He smiled at the vast hordes of demons, ready and waiting with bloodlust to kill those who had opposed him before. He turned and strode off of his balcony. He was taller than most demons, bigger too. Each demon had a pair of ram horns that distinguished his or her status. Griaz horns were huge, the biggest horns the demons had ever written about. He was the King, and would sometimes have to let his lower demons know that. After he had killed off the last king, an old demon who was rotting in his throne, Griaz had taken control of most of the lands surrounding the fire pits where the demons were banished to. He stirred up the lower demons and made his army the most feared of all. They were ready, he was sure, to march on the free lands and destroy life until Griaz himself controlled all. He would make those human slaves think before capturing him and torturing demons until they were hated by all. He grinned at the thought of humans being hated, being shunned. "Yes, they will pay for what they did to my race.... they will pay..." he muttered. He walked into his war chamber and glanced around. The magician demons were sitting in a circle, counciling to themselves. Griaz had never understood them since they were born without horns and were the sickliest of all the race. He would have killed them all off when he became king, but the chief magician had shown him what power they had and he agreed to let them help him. He snorted at them, they saluted, and he loped over to the armory. There, his lower demons were ready with his armor. He slid into his plates, pushed his horn spikes on , and shoved his tail into a wicked looking blade. He wrestled his gloves on which had studs sharp enough to cut through metal laced into them. When he was ready, he walked out into the war chamber. His magicians gasped, and he smiled. If his own demons were scared and impressed, what would the humans think? The chief magician came up to him, saluting in the demon fashion. "Your Majesty, there has been news of the demon party you sent out yesterday to attack the villages on the borders of your realm. They are engaged in battle and the humans are not giving up. We have also had word of a dark cloud of magic covering the area. The demons of the main army are ready and waiting to march. They await your word." "Thank you Chief Magician Marchank. I hope you may work on the magic, since that is beyond my knowledge. I will march with my army today. send a messanger to the first ranks and tell them to retreat until we arrive. We will defeat the humans." "Of course your Majesty." Marchank grinned slyly. Griaz had been suspicious of him since he had first arrived at the old king's court. He was a slippery evil little demon, for all that he was a magician. Griaz hoped if he put him to work on the dark magic he wouldn't be a threat. "Good. I will gather my army and march as soon as possible. Stay strong Demon Marchank." He turned and ran out of the hall down to where his vast hordes were waiting for their leader to lead them to victory.

Selina could sort of see through the fog now, even if it wasn't much, it was enough. She struck down another demon, and then another. As long as she could see their outlines she could kill them.

Selina was bothered by this darkness. Something brushed against her and she had to stop herself from killing it, incase it was an ally, so she stepped back, and into something else. This time, the thing tried to grab her, but she couldn't tell if it was demon or human. She jumped away from it and looked around wildly but could see nothing. 'Uhgg.' She thought to herself.

Griaz marched out of his castle, onto the grounds. "Come my warriors, time for battle, to take what is rightfully ours!" Demons don't believe in long speeches. "Rip your enemies apart, limb by limb! Kill them!" He jumped onto his yusdrail, the demons boar-like beasts they had tamed and rode on. "To war! To victory!" His demons yelled in unison, and he led the charging ride out of the castle walls.

The darkness lingered. No sword clanged but then they heard a low rumble which slowly became louder and louder then BANG! There was a huge burst of light and it hit the center of the battle feild makeing waves that flew back everyone on the battle feild except for the ones who could use magic. "What is this?" she breathed lightly as she bent down so she wouldn't be blown over. But that wasn't the end of the magic the ground began to shake uncontrollably and flung the humans to one side and the demons to another as the mages stayed where they were. Adalin stood near the middle looking around. Someone somewhere did not want a battle. But this person could not fling people who had magic like it's self

Selina braced herself and was not moved by the shaking, though she was almost pushed over. The light was very bright after the darkness and she blinked in the bright light, keeping her sword in her hand. "What was that?" She exclaimed to Adalin.

"I-I have no idea." she breathed. "But..." she said. "You there!" she called to a well built man. "Try walking towards them!" she called. The man stepped back. "You'd die for the safty of the village am I correct?" He nodded slowly. "But-but why don't you do it?" "Cause I'm a mage and if it's what I think it is, Anyone with powers could go through. Anyone without powers can't get through." Then she waved a hand to the demons saying 'well? are you going?' The man walked forward and when he got to the middle, he got shot back. "That's what I thought." she said.
