Murtagh resovled to punch Eragon as soon as the girl was safley put away. "yes." he said with a sigh and began following him again

As they neared the city, a troubled guardsman came out of the gates. "Here now, you can't go taking little girls onto a battlefield." Eragon glared at him while Saphira rose, interested. "Well, if the soldier who was guarding her kept a closer watch, I wouldn't have to be escorting her back in now would I?" "Uh, no. Well, come on in. Let's get her somewhere safe."

Murtagh followed the others in wondering if there was anyting productive he could be doing besides escorting a little girl and a battle weary rider.

Arya moved about her rooms. She needed to leave to get back to her people, and her mother. She quietly stored the clothes she had away, and put on a dress that had been supplied to her by the Varden. The sooner the better.

Eragon, Saphira, and Murtagh escorted the little girl to the headquarters of the Varden. There, he asked some of the gaurds if they would take her to Ajihad to find her mother.
